Fly in Fly out Abrohlos Island Adventure.
Want to visit the incredible Abrohlos Islands but don't want to do the 30 nautical mile passage out and back.
Join us for an exclusive Fly in Fly out sailing adventure.
You fly from Geraldton in a light aircraft landing on the Wallaby Island after a scenic flight across the archipelago. We collect you from the beach and welcome you onboard Queimarla. After settling in and safety briefing we set sail. You will learn how to handle a large sailing catamaran as you sail to the site of the Batavia Massacre. We will land on Traitor island and hear stories of this amazing maritime disaster. We will overnight onboard, offshore of the island.
The next day more sail training as we make our way down to view Webbie Haye's forts (the first European buildings to be built on Australian soil) Overnight at anchor near Wallaby Island.
Day 3. We make our way down to the Middle group of Islands, anchoring overnight after an afternoon of swimming, snorkelling, beach walking and fishing.
Day 4 takes us on another short passage to the southern group and a visit to Gun Island (the site of the Zeewick wreck) you will hear the story of the 10 month struggle of the survivors and their subsequence self rescue. Overnight anchored at Pelsart Island. Sqidding and diving.
Day 5 starts slowly with swimming and beach combing before we set sail back to the middle group and your departure that afternoon on the plane back to Geraldton.
You will leave with an International yacht Training certificate (see IYTworld on line) and memories to last a lifetime.
This is a course and a holiday. Use your new skills and qualification to go on and confidently charter Yachts around the world.
4 people only on each voyage. $2500 all inclusive. (flights from Geraldton, food, training, certificate and Queimarla)
