  • Marine Radio Options

    Some near coastal certificates of competency require a marine radio operator certificate. Depending on the certificate of competency you apply for, you may need a:

    • Short Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency (SROCP) or;

    • Long Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency (LROCP)

    Once booked you will receive a link to the University of Tasmania portal and an online application form.

    The exam will happen online with your assessor observing and testing you over ZOOM.

    Certificate of competency and required radio operator certificate:

    Coxswain Grade 1 NC: SROCP

    Sailing Master Coastal NC: SROCP

    Sailing Master Offshore NC: LROCP

    Master <24 m NC: LROCP

    Master <45 m NC: LROCP

    Master <100 m NC: LROCP
